Eslabong difficulty selection showing Relaxed, Normal, Hard and Infernus

Difficulty comparison

The current difficulty screen in Eslabong Early Access.

This screen is the primary evidence for the page because it lists the four current difficulty choices and their high-level effects.

DifficultyVerified current effects
RelaxedDouble Gold, Double Renown, slower enemy growth, weaker Champions/Bosses
NormalIntended balanced experience
HardNormal-level Gold; stronger/faster rivals; injuries remain part of the challenge
InfernusNormal-level Gold; the fastest and most dangerous enemy progression shown

What each mode is for

Relaxed

Relaxed is the best mode for players who want to learn:

  • basic lineup logic;
  • Market browsing and roster comparison;
  • the rhythm of a season without fast punishment;
  • how Champion/Boss pressure feels at a lower intensity.

Because the game explicitly says you get Double Gold and Double Renown, Relaxed is more than “easy mode” in a cosmetic sense. It changes the pace of progression.

Normal

Normal is the cleanest baseline if you want the intended experience. If you are writing or reading current strategy advice, this is usually the safest reference point because it avoids both the extra generosity of Relaxed and the additional pressure of Hard/Infernus.

Hard

Hard is where the game starts to punish mistakes much more directly. The current wording says rivals are stronger and faster while gold stays at the Normal level, so you should expect a tighter economy-to-pressure relationship.

Infernus

Infernus is presented as the real challenge mode. If you are still learning start choices or Captain control, it is better treated as an aspirational mode than as the place to debug every early loss.

Which difficulty should beginners use?

A safe current rule of thumb is:

  • Relaxed if you are learning systems;
  • Normal if you want the intended baseline;
  • Hard or Infernus only after you already understand how your roster is supposed to function.

What the screen does not tell us

The current setup screen gives us high-level modifiers, but it does not expose:

  • exact stat multipliers;
  • hidden injury formulas;
  • exact speed/strength percentages for rivals;
  • every downstream effect on later systems.

That is why this page compares the four modes honestly without inventing exact values.

Q&A

What does Relaxed difficulty change?

The current screen states Double Gold, Double Renown, slower enemy progression and weaker Champions/Bosses.

Does Hard give more gold?

No. The current screen says Hard keeps gold at the Normal level while making rivals tougher and faster.

What is Infernus?

Infernus is the highest challenge option shown, with Normal-level gold and the fastest, most dangerous rival progression on the current screen.

Are injuries enabled on Hard and Infernus?

The current difficulty descriptions indicate injuries remain active in those harder settings, but exact formulas are not yet verified.
