Eslabong starting team options including Holy Trinity, The Horde and Ice and Fire

Current starting options

The current Early Access setup screen shows six choices:

The current Eslabong starting-team selection screen.

This image is the backbone of the page because it contains all six currently visible opening options in one place.

OptionCurrent on-screen identity
Holy TrinityBalanced — front-line melee, Crossbowman DPS and Cleric healing; described as a solid all-round team
The HordeAggressive — Orc warriors backed by Shaman healing and earth magic; built to overwhelm and endure
Ice and FireControl — Frost Knight front line with Ice Mage + Fire Mage; freeze, burn and shatter pressure
Dark LordNecromancer summons + Assassin Rogue + Lancer controller
RandomThree random Fighters, with rerolls offered until you find a trio you like
Champion ModeOne random Champion + two random Fighters; rival teams also get a Champion

These are screen-verified interface labels, not a community tier list.

What each option is good for

Holy Trinity

This is the most obvious “learn the basics” option because the label itself tells you the jobs of the units: front line, ranged damage, and healing.

The Horde

The wording emphasizes pressure and durability. If you like aggressive openings and want a team identity that is easy to understand, this is one of the clearer choices.

Ice and Fire

This opener is a great fit if you want to learn control and spell interaction. It is also the one we can partially cross-check with a second screen.

The Preseason screen verifies an Ice and Fire example trio: Grayson (Frost Knight), Nivalis (Ice Mage) and Ignacio (Fire Mage).

Dark Lord

Dark Lord introduces summons and a less standard opener. That can be fun, but it may be less forgiving for players who are still learning basic spacing and timing.

Random

Random is not inherently weak — it is simply less controlled. For first-time learning, it is more useful as an experiment than as the safest opener.

Champion Mode

Champion Mode deserves separate attention because it changes the opening rule rather than only the roster identity. If you want the Champion-focused run structure, use it; if you want a cleaner baseline, begin elsewhere.

Best starting team for beginners

The safest current recommendations are:

  • Holy Trinity if you want a balanced, readable opener;
  • Ice and Fire if you want to learn control and timing;
  • Champion Mode only if you specifically want its different run structure.

That recommendation is editorial guidance based on the labels shown in the interface — not hidden balance data.

What this page does not claim

This page does not claim:

  • exact win rates for each start;
  • a universal best opener for all difficulties;
  • a complete full-class breakdown for every start;
  • current hidden stat values for each opening roster.

The visible screen tells us enough to explain the choices honestly, but not enough to fake precise numbers.

Yes. The current screen states that it starts with one random Champion and two random Fighters; rival teams also get a Champion.
